Video: Why Volunteer with the Irish Funds Financial Literacy TY Programme?

Volunteering with the Irish Funds Financial Literacy TY Programme offers member firms an opportunity to help young people build their understanding of financial services while gaining an insight into the range of career opportunities available within Ireland’s funds industry.

Conor Gillespie, Director at PGIM, shares his experience of volunteering with the programme in the video below, explaining that he wanted to give students an insight into the funds industry and the careers it offers. For Conor, the experience was particularly meaningful as he had the opportunity to deliver the programme in his old school.

He was impressed by the level of engagement from students, highlighting their enthusiasm, questions and interest in how the funds industry could shape their future career choices.

The programme continues to grow, with more than 800 students across 30 schools in 17 counties taking part last year, supported by volunteers from 25 Irish Funds member firms and sponsored by Deloitte.

Get involved in 2026/2027

Irish Funds is now recruiting volunteers from member firms for the 2026/2027 TY Financial Literacy Programme and welcomes both new and returning participants.

Volunteers can play an important role in helping students develop their financial knowledge, understand the role of the funds industry and explore the wide range of career opportunities available within financial services.
