Update from Cork: Irish Funds TY Financial Literacy Programme Pilot

20 Transition Year students from Gaelcholáiste Mhuire AG, Cork recently completed the Irish Funds TY Financial Literacy Programme Pilot, led by our facilitator Eibhlin Johnston and supported by industry volunteers from Clearstream Global Securities Services Ltd in their offices in Navigation Square, Cork, where the students got to experience financial services in "action".

This last module introduced the funds and asset management Industry and career opportunities in financial services, led by Peter Higgins, L&D Coordinator, Global Fund Operations. The students created their own mini online portfolios and ran through how funds and the various service providers work. The students met with Neil Lydon, Head of Investment Funds Services, Business Management who gave a great insight into the area of sustainability.

David Brosnan, Managing Director, Clearstream Global Securities also dropped into the students in the Boardroom for a chat.

The students sat down to lunch in the offices after they received their Certificates of Completion of the Irish Funds TY Financial Literacy Programme.
