Irish Funds Co-Hosts Webinar on UCITS Investment in Securitisation
Tuesday, 19 May 2026
Irish Funds co-hosted a technical workshop yesterday in collaboration with Structured Finance Association and Clifford Chance, bringing together EU Member State officials to examine the potential role of UCITS in securitisation markets.
The workshop took place in the context of the ongoing legislative review of the EU securitisation framework under the Savings and Investment Union (SIU) agenda. Discussions focused on how UCITS could potentially contribute to the revival of Europe’s securitisation market and support broader efforts to channel investment into the European economy.
A final agreement among EU co-legislators is expected under the Irish Presidency in the second half of 2026, underscoring the relevance of ongoing technical and policy discussions.
The workshop featured contributions from industry experts including Andrew Traynor, Vice Chair, Irish Funds Securitisation Project Group, (Walkers), David Walsh (Dillon Eustace), Andrew Bryan (Clifford Chance), and Michael Bright (Structured Finance Association).
Thank you to the Structured Finance Association and Clifford Chance for organising and co-hosting this timely and insightful discussion on the future of Europe’s capital markets.
