Third Annual It’s FUNDamental Conference Showcases the Expanding Reach of the Funds Industry

Under the theme “Empowering Regions: Growing Ireland’s Regional Funds Industry,” the event brought together a powerhouse panel of industry experts, including Irish Funds CEO Pat Lardner, alongside Kate English, Catherine Duffy, David Brosnan, Aislinn O'Keeffe, and Brian McGee, with a special appearance by Richie Power.

In his keynote address, Pat Lardner emphasised the strength, evolution, and future of Ireland’s funds ecosystem. He highlighted the industry’s impressive scale and truly regional, national, EU, and global nature of the industry:

• €6.7 trillion in assets under administration

• €5 trillion in domiciled assets

• 8,900 Irish-domiciled funds

• Distribution to over 90 countries

The positive economic contribution across Ireland was also highlighted:

• 20,000 people employed nationwide

• €15 billion contribution to the Irish economy

• €1 billion in revenue to the Irish Exchequer

Looking ahead, he outlined Irish Funds’ strategic priorities, including:

• Enhancing private asset capabilities

• Cementing Ireland’s global leadership in ETFs

• Driving innovation in tokenisation

• Embracing the growing role of technology in fund services
