Launch of Next Phase of the Irish Financial Services Skills Framework

A major milestone was reached for Ireland’s financial services sector with the launch of the next phase of the Irish Financial Services Skills Framework, developed by IOB and focused on the funds and asset management industry.

This initiative is designed to help professionals and firms identify, assess, and develop the skills needed to keep pace with rapid change — from advances in AI and digital innovation to the green and regulatory transformations reshaping the sector. It will also support career planning and workforce development, helping to close skills gaps efficiently and strengthen Ireland’s position as a global centre for funds and asset management.

Irish Funds was proud to provide input and support to IOB throughout the development of this phase, working in collaboration with education partners, government bodies, and industry representatives.

Speaking at the launch, Pat Lardner, CEO of Irish Funds, highlighted the importance of skills development in driving transformation across the industry:

"Skills development sits at the heart of every major transformation in the funds and asset management industry – from green and digital transitions to evolving regulatory developments. The Irish Financial Services Skills Framework offers a powerful and practical response to these challenges and opportunities.”

Congratulations to IOB and all involved on this important achievement, and a special thank you to the Irish Funds Education and Training Project Group for their dedication and outstanding contributions.
