Irish Funds 'Why Ireland' Guides Now Available in EUR, GBP and USD

Irish Funds’ latest “Why Ireland” guides highlight the scale, resilience and global reach of the country’s funds and asset management sector, showing how Ireland has reinforced its standing as one of the world’s leading centres for investment funds.

Available in EUR, GBP and USD editions, the guide underscore Ireland’s continued growth and its ability to attract international asset managers seeking a stable, innovative and well-regulated European base.

Ireland is now the fastest-growing major fund domicile in Europe, holding 21.8% of total European fund assets. Globally, it ranks as the third-largest investment fund centre and the second-largest in Europe, accounting for 6.8% of worldwide fund assets.

The country also maintains a dominant position in exchange-traded funds (ETFs), with Irish-domiciled ETFs representing more than 70% of the European market. Total assets in Irish-domiciled funds reached €5.5 trillion in 2025, supported by €436 billion in net inflows.

Industry employment remains significant, with approximately 20,000 professionals working across the funds ecosystem. The sector is widely recognised for its technical expertise, operational efficiency and strong regulatory framework.

Irish Funds noted that Ireland’s combination of scale, innovation and global connectivity continues to attract leading international asset managers. The organisation also highlighted the importance of maintaining a supportive environment to ensure long-term investment and sustainable growth as global markets evolve.

The latest findings reaffirm Ireland’s role as a strategic hub within the global financial system, particularly for firms seeking access to European markets alongside a stable and forward-looking regulatory landscape.
