Irish Funds Welcomes Announcement of Government Funding for Women in Finance Charter

Irish Funds welcomes today’s announcement by Minister Robert Troy of direct Government funding for Ireland's Women in Finance Charter.

This important investment marks a significant step forward in advancing gender balance, accountability, and inclusion across Ireland’s financial services sector.

It will help drive meaningful, measurable progress by supporting organisations in committing to transparency, leadership diversity, and long-term change for women in finance.

Launched in 2022, Ireland’s Women in Finance Charter is a powerful, industry-led initiative funded by Irish Funds, Financial Services Ireland (FSI), Banking & Payments Federation Ireland, and Insurance Ireland, and backed by Government. With the Charter recently reaching the milestone of 100 signatories, representing half of all employees in the financial services sector, momentum continues to build across the industry.

As our CEO, Pat Lardner, noted: “With half of all employees in the financial services sector now represented through our signatory companies, industry engagement with the Charter sends a clear signal to their workforce. Membership of the Charter is an accessible and powerful demonstration of their commitment to greater gender balance.”
