Time to Read Volunteers and Students Wrap Up for the Summer

From From April through June, volunteers from Irish Funds and several member firms participated in Business in The Community's ‘Time to Read’ programme. The programme is crucial in helping kids develop literacy skills and expose them to different experiences. It is also fun and rewarding for volunteers.

While due to Covid-19 restrictions at the time the regular reading sessions were online, at the end of term the volunteers and students met in person three times for a library visit, a school visit and an office visit.

Thanks to all our volunteers: Barry Tyrrell and Anne Guerin (Dillon Eustace), Fiona McAuley (GAM), Sarah Bradley (Grant Thornton), Aislinn O'Keeffe (Waystone), Joanne McEnteggart (IQ-EQ), and Karen Gildea, David Shirley and Anna Fenston (Irish Funds).

We highly recommend both the Time to Read and Time to Count programmes - it is a great way for companies and their staff who are looking to get involved and make a positive impact.

Get more information on both programmes on the BITC website or contact Germain Noonan at gnoonan@bitc.ie.
