Irish Funds TY Financial Literacy Programme Returns with a Busy Week Post Midterm Break

Following the midterm break, the Irish Funds Financial Literacy Programme was back in full swing, with volunteers delivering engaging and interactive sessions across eight schools in seven counties during the first week of November.

Improving financial literacy is a vital skill that helps students build greater security, control, and understanding of their money and savings. By learning the fundamentals of investing, budgeting, and financial planning, young people are gaining essential knowledge to support their long-term financial wellbeing.

During this busy week, sessions took place in:

  • St. Joseph’s Secondary School, Ballybunion, Co. Kerry

  • Pipers Hill College, Naas, Co. Kildare

  • Ardscoil Rís, Dublin

  • Our Lady’s Grove, Dublin

  • St. Eunan’s College, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal

  • Kinsale Community College, Co. Cork

  • Limerick Educate Together Secondary School, Limerick

  • Waterpark College, Waterford

Each school participated in an interactive classroom session, where students explored key topics such as saving and budgeting, understanding markets, investment basics, and financial goal setting. Many discussions also focused on how students can apply these principles in their everyday lives — from managing pocket money to planning for future expenses.

The sessions, delivered by industry volunteers from Irish Funds member firms, continue to spark meaningful conversations around financial responsibility and confidence among students nationwide.

Irish Funds would like to extend a huge thank you to our programme sponsor, Deloitte, for their continued partnership and support in helping make this initiative such a success.
