Irish Funds Fundraiser: Focus Ireland Shine a Light Night 2023 on Homelessness

Once again, an Irish Funds Team comprising members from the Irish Funds Governing Council, senior executives from the wider funds Community and members of our own Leadership Team are sleeping out in Dublin and Cork for Shine a Light Night on Friday, 13 October to raise vital funds for Focus Ireland.

Recent figures published by the Department of Housing show the number of people officially homeless in July 2023 reached a new high of 12,847. These latest figures show a 22% rise in homelessness compared to July 2022. Families can spend up to 2 years in 1-room emergency accommodation, which has a significant impact on mental health, self-esteem, and child development.

However, homelessness is not just a statistic; it’s a heart-breaking reality for far too many people, families, and children and by sleeping out, we hope to raise awareness about homelessness and help raise vital funds to support homeless services. 

We have been so fortunate with the support we have had from industry groups and members over the last few years around the sleep out and hope we call on your support again.
