Thursday, 14 May 2026
Irish Funds was delighted to host a vibrant in-person seminar in Milan, kindly sponsored by Citi. The event brought together industry professionals to explore Ireland’s position as a global hub for investment and asset management.
The event opened with welcoming remarks Federico Chiaverini (Citi) and Natasha Haugh (Irish Funds), followed by an insightful Irish Government Address from Maria Sheehy, Consul General of Ireland in Milan, setting the stage for a morning of industry discussion and market insights.
The first panel explored why Ireland continues to be a strategic choice for global asset managers. Discussions highlighted Ireland’s strong regulatory framework, specialist expertise, and internationally connected ecosystem, which continue to support its position as a leading global funds domicile.
Panellists also examined the growing momentum behind alternatives and private assets in Ireland, noting the scalability of Irish structures and the efficient access they provide to international investors.
A presentation on the European macroeconomic outlook then explored the key trends shaping the investment environment across Europe and the implications for asset managers navigating evolving market conditions.
The seminar concluded with a discussion on Ireland’s role as a global ETF powerhouse. The panel highlighted Ireland’s continued leadership in supporting ETF innovation, operational efficiency, and cross-border growth within the international investment funds industry.
Irish Funds extends sincere thanks to all speakers, attendees, and to Citi for hosting the event at their Milan offices.
