Irish Funds Hosts Key UCITS Roundtables in Brussels
Wednesday, 15 October 2025
Irish Funds hosted two roundtable discussions in Brussels, bringing together officials from the European Commission, Member State representations, MEP advisors, and industry stakeholders.
The discussions focused on the anticipated review of the 2007 UCITS Eligible Assets Directive. Irish Funds shared members’ perspectives on how to preserve the strength and global reputation of the UCITS framework while supporting its continued evolution.
UCITS remains one of the European Union’s most successful financial frameworks — a safe, trusted, and well-regulated investment vehicle sold across all EU Member States and more than 50 countries globally.
Ireland plays a central role in Europe’s investment funds and asset management industry, with €4.195 trillion in Irish-domiciled UCITS funds as of July 2025. This robust UCITS framework is a cornerstone of the EU’s ambition to build a Savings and Investments Union (SIU), empowering citizens to invest and supporting sustainable economic growth across the continent.
Irish Funds looks forward to ongoing engagement with policymakers to strengthen European capital markets — driving investment, innovation, and opportunities for citizens and businesses alike.
