Irish Funds Financial Literacy TY Programme Mid-Term Update

We hit the halfway mark recently with our Financial Literacy TY Programme and are pleased with the success of the relaunch and excited that it continues to grow with the support of our Programme sponsor Deloitte.

St Mary's School – Psychology, Investing and a Return Next Year

Brendan McGrath (Waystone) joined our lead facilitator Eibhlin Johnston, for a highly interactive session with students discussing the role of the parties within the professional services firms', using Deloitte as an example. Brendan even expressed the need for psychologists in the industry as the field relates to investing, the students loved his stories and opinions, particularly when they are exploring their career options. We reviewed their portfolios and discussed with the students of the Central Bank and investment restrictions. We have been asked to return next year and look forward to meeting another highly intelligent class of future professionals!

Irish Funds Attends Colaiste Chiaran Careers Fair

On Tuesday, February 27 our interns visited Athlone to share information on funds and asset management industry careers, the diversity of career paths and opportunities, and all the other great things our industry has to offer! They had students sample a Kahoot quiz as part of the programme and had plenty of Irish Funds goodies to hand out! Julie Bowell, Lucy Ann Duigan and Rory Moran were able to give their perspective working in the funds industry, all having different interests and had a hugely positive reception.

Throughout March and Onwards

We have now completed seven of the sixteen schools that applied to the Programme and next month we will be visiting Donaghmede, Castletroy and Cork. We are agreeing dates with the remaining schools and look forward to visiting more inquisitive and dedicated students.
