Irish Funds Financial Literacy TY Programme Comes to a Close for the 2025/2026 Academic Year

The Irish Funds Financial Literacy Transition Year Programme for 2025/2026 has officially come to a close, marking another successful year of empowering young people across Ireland.

This year, the programme engaged more than 800 students across 30 schools in 17 counties, equipping participants with essential knowledge and practical skills in financial literacy, digital finance, sustainable investing, and key life competencies. The initiative continues to play a vital role in preparing students for confident financial decision-making in an increasingly complex world.

Irish Funds was delighted to once again partner with programme sponsor Deloitte, led by Alan Cuddihy. Deloitte’s continued commitment to advancing financial literacy education in Ireland has been instrumental in supporting the programme’s growth and nationwide reach.

A sincere thank you also goes to the industry volunteers from 25 member firms who delivered sessions throughout the academic year. Their expertise, insights, and dedication brought real-world financial concepts to life, leaving a lasting impact on students.

Financial literacy is more than a technical skillset—it is a foundation for confidence, financial security, and informed decision-making. Strengthening this capability among young people remains central to the mission of Irish Funds and its members.

One of the programme’s recent sessions took place at St. Peter’s Dunboyne (Co. Meath), where Irish Funds CEO Pat Lardner and Brian O’Callaghan of Deloitte joined students to present certificates and programme pins.

The session was delivered by Marco Pieralisi (Caceis) alongside Éowyn Nugent (Irish Funds). Students also reviewed the progress of their FT Schools portfolios and further developed their understanding of financial literacy, digital finance, and life competencies.

Congratulations to the following schools that recently completed the programme:

  • St Kieran’s College, Kilkenny

  • Sandymount Park ETSS, Dublin

  • Loreto Navan, Meath

  • St Mary’s Secondary School, Edenderry, Offaly

  • St. Peter’s Dunboyne, Meath

  • Loreto Bray, Wicklow

  • Loreto Balbriggan, Dublin
