Irish Funds Financial Literacy Programme Kicks Off in Limerick
Friday, 17 October 2025
This week, Irish Funds launched the latest phase of its Financial Literacy Transition Year Programme with an engaging session at Limerick Educate Together Secondary School.
Launched in 2022, the programme equips Transition Year students with essential skills in financial literacy, digital finance, sustainable investing, and broader life skills. It also introduces students to the investment funds and asset management industry. Since its inception, the initiative has reached over 1,700 students nationwide. During the 2024/25 academic year alone, it engaged 700 students across 23 schools in 14 counties — with further expansion planned for 2025/26.
Irish Funds CEO Pat Lardner joined Joe Nash on Live95 Limerick to discuss the importance of financial literacy, the role of the funds and asset management industry in Ireland’s economy, and how competitiveness and innovation continue to drive growth and employment across the country.
We extend our sincere thanks to Principal Eoin Shinners, TY Co-ordinator Fiona O'Shea, the enthusiastic students, and our dedicated volunteers and industry representatives. We are especially grateful to our Programme Sponsor, Deloitte, for their continued support.
