Irish Funds Emerging Tech & Innovation Speaker Series: Turning Insight into Action with AI and Cyber Resilience

Irish Funds was delighted to partner with IDA Ireland to hold the latest edition of our Emerging Tech & Innovation Speaker Series at the IDA offices. ET&I Working group member Jade Bannigan of Franklin Templeton kicked off the packed event which focused on an Insight to Action – Digital Fluency, Cyber Resilience and AI Enabled Operations.

The opening session spotlighted the IDA’s newly launched "Adapt Intelligently" strategy, a bold roadmap for sustainable growth and innovation through digitalisation, AI, and strategic supports for firms operating in Ireland presented by Bernadette Nulty.

Two dynamic panels brought the conversation to life:

  • Cyber Resiliency: Niamh Vianney Muldoon of BNY and Ciaran Madden of J.P. Morgan moderated by Aisling Soden of the IDA Ireland explored how firms can strengthen operational integrity in an evolving threat landscape. A key takeaway was the importance of our people, training and the need for for empathy.

  • AI Enabled Operations & the Future of Investment Management: John Durcan of the IDA Ireland, Barry Noonan Mediolanum International - Ireland and Lopamudra Bhattacharjee (ACA) Northern Trust held a forward-looking discussion on how artificial intelligence is reshaping the industry highlighting the need for strong governance, transparency and feedback.

Conall Dee of the IDA closed the session with a wrap up of topics and we are looking forward to further partnership with the IDA.

Both panel sessions highlighted that Ireland is a trusted global strategic hub for technology with significant talent, skills, education and geographic advantages.

It is crucial for Ireland's competitiveness and growth to leverage these skills and advantages and for firms to be aware of the supports in training and research & development offered by the IDA.

A sincere thank you to our expert speakers for sharing their insights, the ET&I working group for all their hard work, and to the IDA for hosting and presenting their strategic vision. Your collaboration and leadership continue to drive Ireland’s position as a global hub for innovation.
