Funds by IOB - Registration now open for Professional Qualifications

Registration is now open for Professional Qualifications in Funds by IOB. 

Commencing in September in association with Irish Funds, IOB, a recognised college of University College Dublin is delivering accredited qualifications in:

  • Applied Alternative Investments
  • Designated Persons
  • International Investment Fund Services
  • Complex Financial Instruments

Further information can be found below and full details on all programmes are on the IOB website. Part-funding for all of the fund related programmes is available through IFS Skillnet and early registration is advisable to avail of funding.


Professional Diploma in Applied Alternative Investments 

This Post-Graduate Diploma in Applied Alternative Investments is a post-graduate qualification that provides an opportunity for professionals to develop their expertise in the growing alternative assets market. Closing date to apply: 14 September 2021


New: Professional Certificate in Designated Persons

The Professional Certificate for Designated Persons in a Fund Management Company has been carefully designed to equip professionals in the funds industry with the necessary competence to fill DP roles and is the only accredited qualification at this level. This certificate has been designed in consultation with our Funds Advisory Board, Irish Funds and a variety of industry experts. Closing date to apply: 14 September 2021

Professional Certificate in International Investment Fund Services 

The Professional Certificate in International Investment Fund Serviceshas been the industry benchmark qualification for many years and has been significantly refocused, updated and enhanced to reflect the many industry developments over recent years. It is a unique and specific programme designed to support the industry’s day-to-day activities. Closing date to apply: 30 September 2021

Upon successful completion of this programme graduates will invited to the Accredited Funds Professional Designation.


Professional Certificate in Complex Financial Instruments

The Professional Certificate in Complex Financial Instruments is a practical based programme for understanding and providing you with a strong comprehension of derivatives. Delivered over one semester, the key objective of the programme is to simplify the most common derivatives and explain their uses in a highly practical way. Closing date to apply: 30 September 2021


Certified Investment Fund Director Programme

The Certified Investment Fund Director Instituteis accepting applications for Cohort 18 (Aug to Oct 2021) and Cohort 19 (March to May 2022) of its flagship Certified Investment Fund Director (CIFD) Programme. There are a few places left on cohort 18 which will be delivered in Dublin the week of Monday, 18 October. The CIFD Programme is designed for all investment fund directors or those with extensive asset management or funds experience who aspire to become investment fund directors. It is also a highly valuable programme for those operating in director/senior management positions within both fund promoter and service provider organisations, those responsible for product governance within fund promoter organisations and institutional investor personnel responsible for the oversight of investment fund governance frameworks within their portfolio of investment funds.
