Financial Literacy: Irish Funds TY Programme Wraps up for Christmas
Thursday, 12 December 2024
The Irish Funds Financial Literacy TY Programme concluded its final sessions before Christmas this week. A huge thank you to our sponsor, Deloitte, for their continued support of the programme. Over the past few months, the programme was successfully implemented in nine schools across five counties. Seven schools had participated in 2023/2024, and this year, two new schools joined, including Ardscoil Ris, Dublin and Waterpark College in Waterford, the first school in the Southeast to participate.
Industry leads, programme coordinator Eibhlin Johnston and Irish Funds' interns delivered excellent sessions to over 200 students. The students learned about financial literacy, digital finance, sustainable investing, and life skills, and each had the chance to set up their own Financial Times portfolio.
Congratulations to the following schools for successfully completing the programme:
St. Mary’s Secondary School Edenderry, Offaly with industry lead Brendan McGrath from Waystone.
Ardscoil Rís Secondary School, Dublin with industry leads Tara Clements and Keith Masterson from CACEIS and Irish Funds' intern Conor McGuinness.
Waterpark College, Waterford with industry lead Emma Stephenson from PwC and Irish Funds' intern Jamie Martin.
Loreto Secondary School Balbriggan, Dublin with industry leads Fiona De Burca and Shaun Gilbride from Deloitte.
Drimnagh Castle Secondary School, Dublin with industry leads Gabriel Adekola, Stephen O'Neill, Bogomil Marinov and Paul Gannon from KBC Fund Management and Irish Funds' intern Sophie Walsh.

Loreto College Foxrock, Dublin with industry lead Ailbhe Flynn from Deloitte, and Irish Funds' interns Claudia Moran and Jamie Martin.
