Ireland’s role in shaping the future of European financial services took centre stage during Eurofi week at the Joint Irish Financial Services Reception in Dublin, co-hosted by Irish Funds alongside Banking & Payments Federation Ireland, Insurance Ireland, Financial Services Ireland (FSI), Euronext and Stripe.
The event brought together policymakers, regulators and senior financial services professionals from across the European Union and beyond to exchange views on the key issues influencing investment, financial services policy and economic competitiveness across Europe.
A key moment of the reception was an address by Peter Burke, Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, who outlined Ireland’s priorities for its upcoming EU Presidency. He highlighted Ireland’s growing influence within the European financial services landscape and the sector’s contribution as both a national and European success story.
Discussions centred on strengthening investment, enhancing Europe’s competitiveness and advancing collaboration across the EU, with strong support expressed for the Presidency theme, “There is no strength without unity.”
Ireland’s funds and asset management industry was strongly represented at the event by the Irish Funds team, members of its Council and industry leaders including Andrea Kelly, Terri Dempsey, Adrian Mulryan, Adrian Whelan, Vanora Madigan, Charlene Kennedy, Pat Lardner, Umar Ahmed, Brian McCabe and Daniela Siquerolo.
The reception also brought together representatives from Ireland’s funds and asset management industry, providing an opportunity for leaders from across the sector to engage with European stakeholders during a key week for financial services policy discussions.
