Closing Date Is Approaching for Postgraduate Programmes at Funds by IOB

Irish Funds has a long-standing partnership with Funds by IOB to provide a range of programmes aimed specifically at those working in the investment funds industry. IOB is a recognised college of University College Dublin (UCD).

The closing date is fast approaching for application to the Professional Diploma in Applied Alternative Investments, Professional Certificate in Designated Persons and Professional Certificate in Capital Markets, Investments and Funds programmes.

Professional Diploma in Applied Alternative Investments 

This programme provides a unique opportunity to gain a UCD post-graduate qualification in the area of applied alternative investments. It will advance your knowledge and understanding of valuation issues relevant to alternative investments, legal and regulatory considerations and long-term trends in the alternatives arena.

The programme will:

• Introduce the principles underpinning asset valuation and risk analysis and provide a foundation for exploring fund valuation drivers relevant to alternative investment funds,

• Advance your knowledge of long-term trends in the demand for alternative investments,

• Deepen your knowledge and expertise in the range of alternative investment strategies,

• Introduce the relevance and importance of alternative investments to various types of investors,

• Develop your knowledge of legal and regulatory issues affecting alternative investment funds,

• ESG Investing.

Students will study one module commencing in October 2024 followed by two modules commencing in February 2024, completing the programme in May 2025. IFS Skillnet funding is also available for the programme.

Professional Certificate in Designated Persons

The Professional Certificate for Designated Persons in a Fund Management Company was introduced to support the development of individuals in Designated Person roles, or those who aspire to these roles. It is also relevant to individuals who support Designated Persons and to other professionals in Fund Management Companies. 

The Professional Certificate for Designated Persons in a Fund Management Company has been carefully designed to equip professionals in the funds industry with the necessary competence to fill DP roles and is the only accredited qualification at this level.

Professional Certificate in Capital Markets, Investments and Funds

The Professional Certificate in Capital Markets, Investments and Funds is designed to deepen your knowledge of the drivers of performance of capital markets and of capital market products, the settlement and trade life cycles, regulations, and the importance of risk management and operational robustness in the fund management sector. The programme is targeted at the fund management industry, bringing together all the major areas of requisite knowledge required for portfolio and risk management processes within the funds and investment environment.
