Climb for a Cause 2026 Team Takes on the Alps in Aid of basis.point and Focus Ireland

The Climb for a Cause 2026 team has begun its Alpine fundraising challenge, with participants currently training in the French Alps as they prepare to take on some of Europe's most demanding mountain peaks in support of basis.point and Focus Ireland.

Having arrived in Chamonix over the weekend, the group has spent recent days adjusting to the altitude and completing training exercises ahead of the main climbs. Preparations included a visit to the renowned Mer de Glace glacier, one of the largest glaciers in France.

For the next stage of the challenge, the team will travel to Italy to tackle Gran Paradiso over a two-day period. This is all in preparation for when the team sets their sights on their ultimate objective: reaching the summit of Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Western Europe.

Beyond the physical challenge, the initiative aims to raise funds for two charitable causes. Proceeds from the campaign will support programmes focused on tackling homelessness through Focus Ireland, while also helping children experiencing educational disadvantage through basis.point-funded initiatives.

As the team continues its journey towards Mont Blanc, supporters are being encouraged to contribute to the fundraising effort and help maximise the impact of the challenge for both organisations.

Donations remain open through the Climb for a Cause fundraising page: https://www.idonate.ie/fundraiser/montblanc26
