Applications Closing Soon: IOB Professional Qualifications

Irish Funds, in partnership with the Institute of Banking (IOB), continues to offer a suite of professional qualifications designed for those working in the funds and investment management industry. IOB is a recognised college of University College Dublin (UCD), and the long-standing collaboration reflects a shared commitment to high-quality, industry-relevant education.
Applications are currently open for a range of specialised programmes aimed at supporting professional development and career progression across the sector.
The programmes available include:
Professional Diploma in Applied Alternative Investments, which provides in-depth insight into alternative asset classes such as hedge funds, private equity and infrastructure, alongside ESG considerations, regulation and long-term market trends.
Professional Certificate for Designated Persons, the only accredited qualification specifically for Designated Persons in Fund Management Companies, suitable for current and aspiring Designated Persons as well as those supporting DP roles.
Professional Certificate in Capital Markets, Investments and Funds, designed to strengthen understanding of capital markets, trade lifecycles, regulation, risk management and operational resilience.
Professional Certificate in International Investment Fund Services, a long-established industry benchmark qualification, recently updated to reflect key regulatory and operational developments.
Professional Certificate in Complex Financial Instruments, a practical programme focused on applying derivatives in real-world fund and investment contexts.
IFS Skillnet funding is available for selected programmes, subject to eligibility.
IOB will hold an information event about the Professional Diploma in Applied Alternative Investments and the Professional Certificate in Capital Markets, Investments and Funds programmes on Thursday, 15 January, and about the Professional Certificate in International Investment Fund Services on Friday, 16 January.
The closing date for applications is Friday, 23 January 2026.
