Our member companies and their employees give both time and financial support to a wide range of charitable organisations and activities. Irish Funds actively supports two nominated charities: basis.point and Focus Ireland.
basis.point was set up in 2014, with the ambition to give every child in Ireland equal access to a brighter future through education. Founded on the idea of joined up giving, basis.point is a unique example of industry colleagues putting their time, energy and resources together, to combat one single issue, educational disadvantage.
Education is key to breaking the poverty cycle and improving health, nutrition, and opportunities for all children throughout Ireland. basis.point educational programmes focus on the fundamentals spanning the educational lifecycle to:
Empower – empower parents to give their child the best start in education
Enable – enable children to engage meaningfully in education
Enhance – enhance the chances of success for young adults
Engage – new developments and learning hub for innovative programmes
Since its foundation, Focus Ireland’s services have continued to grow and its research and advocacy work ensures that the rights of people who are homeless remain on the political agenda. In addition to projects in Dublin, they now have services and housing projects across Ireland including in Waterford, Kilkenny, Cork, Sligo and Limerick.
Shine A Light Night by Focus Ireland takes place every October with support from the business community and the public to raise funds to help support people who are experiencing homelessness.
