Tara Doyle is a partner in the Asset Management and Investment Funds Group at Matheson. She practices financial services law and advises many of the world’s leading financial institutions, investment banks, asset management companies, broker-dealers and corporations carrying on business in Ireland or through Irish vehicles. Tara has extensive experience in advising a wide range of domestic and international clients on the structuring, establishment, marketing and sale of financing and investment vehicles and products in Ireland and other jurisdictions. In particular she specialises in advising on the legal and regulatory issues surrounding the establishment of private and public investment funds, the structuring, offer and sale of investment instruments and investment products, the provision of investment advice and other financial services and the public issuance of equity and debt securities.
Tara is a current member of the Council of the Irish Funds Industry Association Limited (Irish Funds). She has spoken at a number of international financial services conferences, including Irish Funds' seminars in Milan, Frankfurt, New York, Boston, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Singapore and has contributed articles to financial services and investment industry journals. Tara is a member of both the Irish Funds' Money Market Fund Taskforce and Marketing Committee.
Paddy has been working for CACEIS for over 12 years in Ireland and the UK. He has been the Business Development Director since 2008 and, prior to this , was the Head of Trustee in CACEIS in Ireland. He has worked in the asset servicing industry for more that 21 years. He has previously worked for Citi, Royal Bank of Scotland and Barings. Paddy is an active member of the Irish Funds Industry Association (Irish Funds) Marketing Committee and has also serviced on the Irish Funds Trustee Committee.
David joined Dillon Eustace in 2007 and qualified as a solicitor in 2010. David advises on the establishment, authorisation, operation and maintenance of Irish regulated UCITS funds and open and closed-ended Alternative Investment Funds. David has been seconded to US and French asset management clients of Dillon Eustace in both London and Paris. David is currently based in the New York office where he advises large U.S. asset managers with respect to their Irish domiciled funds. David works closely with US asset managers, and their onshore legal advisers, to provide Irish legal advice in an efficient and timely manner. David keeps close to legal, regulatory and industry developments in the US which enables the lawyers in the Irish and Cayman offices to better understand the needs of their clients.
Philip is a partner in the Asset Management and Investment Funds Group at Matheson. Matheson is the number one ranked funds practice in Ireland, experts in all aspects of UCITS and Alternative Funds. Philip has over ten years’ experience of advising leading international financial institutions and asset management companies on structuring and offering fund products in Ireland and particularly in relation to ETFs, innovative and complex products authorised as UCITS and emerging markets products.
Tony advises clients on the structuring and establishment of every type of Irish fund, with particular expertise in the alternative fund sector. He provides advice on regulatory and structural issues related to the establishment process of investment funds, including hedge funds, UCITS (using both traditional and alternative strategies) and structured products.
Tony is head of McCann FitzGerald’s Listing department and has extensive experience of listing investment funds, debt and other specialist securities on the Irish Stock Exchange.
He is also involved in advising on the authorisation of investment business firms, particularly alternative investment fund managers, UCITS management companies and fund administrators, in Ireland.
Kieran Fox joined the Association in August 2007 and is the Director - Business Development for Irish Funds. As well as being responsible for working with investment managers and developing our membership offering, Kieran participates in a number of our steering groups including Distribution, Marketing & Promotion and Front Office and has led engagement on specific regulatory matters. Kieran has a BSc Finance and holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Information Systems. Prior to joining us he gained significant experience both in industry and within the regulator. He was a senior regulator and risk specialist with the Central Bank of Ireland for almost two years and prior to this spent seven years in a variety of roles across the front office within the hedge fund industry in London. Kieran represents the Association on the Summit Finuas Network Steering Committee.
Stuart Alexander is Co-Founder and Chief Executive of Gemini Investment Management Ltd, authorised and regulated by the FCA, which commenced business in 2009. He is also a Director of Gemini Capital Management (Ireland) Ltd (GemCap) which in 2016 was incorporated in Ireland and approved as a UCITS Management Company (ManCo) by the CBI. He has over 30 years’ experience in the fund management industry and previously was Managing Director, Close Investments (2005-2007), HBOS’s Asset Management, Director (2001–2005), Invesco Fund Managers Ltd, Sales Director (1996–2001), Singer & Friedlander Investment Management Ltd, Director (1992-1996), Morgan Grenfell (1988–1992) and Gartmore (1986–1988). During his career Stuart has successfully launched a number of businesses in the asset management industry and has overseen the growth of many of these businesses in the UK and Globally.
As Global Head of Governance & Regulatory Solutions, Andrea leads a team of professionals responsible for directing and implementing RBC Investor & Treasury Services’ regulatory and governance strategies. She has held a number of increasingly senior roles since joining RBC’s General Counsel Group in 2001, most recently as Global Head of Securities Dispute Resolution. Prior to joining RBC, Andrea practiced corporate-commercial litigation at a leading firm in Toronto, specializing in class actions and securities litigation. Andrea holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from Queen’s University and a law degree from the University of Toronto. She is a Director on the Board of RBC Investor Services Trust. Andrea has also served on a number of charities and non-profit organizations, and is currently on the Board of Directors of The Toronto Public Library Foundation.
Terri Troy recently retired as CEO of the Halifax Regional Municipality Pension Plan. She has more than 25 years of experience in investment management, pensions, corporate strategy, and mergers and acquisitions. As CEO of the Halifax Regional Municipality Pension Plan, she transformed the governance structure, investment strategy, and customer service function between 2006-2017. Innovative investment strategies implemented included factor investing, portable alpha, and a significant emphasis on private investments including co-investments, syndications/club deals with other large institutional investors, and direct investments, etc.
While CEO, Terri was a Board member of Calon Energy, a UK based energy company and a Board member of Alignvest Management, a Canadian financial services corporation. She was a member of Investor Advisory Committees for various global private investments including UK, European and US private equity; UK, Australian and Canadian infrastructure; European, UK, Asian, US and Canadian real estate; and European, UK, and US private debt.
Prior to the CEO role, Terri was responsible for the investment strategy for RBC’s 33 global pension plans between 2000-2006. Prior to RBC, Terri held various roles at CIBC including corporate strategy, mergers & acquisitions, and wealth management.
Terri has held various leadership roles in the pension industry including being a Board Member of the Pension Investment Association of Canada from 2004-2009; Chair of the Board in 2007, Chair of the Investment Practices Committee 2004-2009, Chair of the Government Relations Committee, 2010-2011 and a member of the International Limited Partnership’s Association’s Education Committee 2016-2018.
Over the course of her career, Terri has received many awards including the Leading Pension Plan Sponsor Award in 2011 and the Top 25 Most Influential Plan Sponsors in 2009 & 2010.
Terri has an MBA from York University and an HBBA from Wilfrid Laurier. She also holds the CFA charter and is currently enrolled in the Institute of Corporate Directors course at Rotman.
Krish Karunakaran is Vice-President at AGF Investments and is responsible for Client Service, general administration and governance at AGF. Krish joined AGF in 2011 and has over 15 years of industry and investment experience, including Client Service, On Boarding, Investment Operations, and Governance.
Prior to joining AGF, he spent tens years at State Street where he focused on Client Service, Governance and Middle/Back Office Administration.
