Deborah is a Partner and Head of the Asset Management and Regulatory team in Eversheds Sutherland Ireland.
Deborah’s specialisation includes advising internationally domiciled clients who wish to establish regulated and unregulated vehicles in Ireland that utilise (amongst other things) Blockchain/DLT technology (such as crypto exchanges, crowdfunding platforms, and S110 vehicles) and/or entities that invest in digital assets (including cryptocurrencies) such as ETN programmes. Deborah’s client base spans some of the largest entities in the world, to the more boutique and new market entrants / start-ups.
Deborah regularly advises on Irish authorisation/structuring/establishment/ongoing management, governance and regulatory issues related to UCITS/AIF management companies, investment managers/advisers, brokers, depositaries and fund administrators. She also advises her clients on a wide range of regulatory matters, including licensing, outsourcing and governance issues related Fintech and/or Regtech companies including advising credit institutions, investment firms, electronic money institutions, European Crowdfunding Service Providers and payment institutions. Deborah has extensive experience advising on both European and Irish legislation such as MIFID II; PSD2, Market Abuse Regulation (MAR), AML requirements (including VASP registrations), the Investment Firm Regulation (IFR) and Investment Firm Directive (IFD), the Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR) and Capital Requirements Directive (CRD), the AIFMD, the UCITS Directive, and the client asset regime (CAR). More recently she has advised on key European proposals such as MiCA, PISA and DORA and regularly advises on issues related to digital / crypto assets advising clients domestically and globally.
Deborah is recognised as a leading lawyer in Europe for Financial and Regulatory Services, by ILO/ACC and in Ireland by the Legal 500. She won Financial Regulation lawyer of the year in 2021 at the Women in Business Law awards. She is an expert on the Department of Finance 2025 Blockchain Strategy Group and sits on a number of key advocacy and development groups such as Blockchain Ireland, BPFI, FinTech Ireland and various strategic working groups such as FinTech, Legal and Regulatory, Depositary and ESG working groups for Irish Funds being the representative body for the Irish funds industry. She has spent much of her career advocating at domestic and an EU level (with ESMA and the Commission) for the financial services industry.
Maxime de Guillebon is the CEO of Zodia Custody and is based in London. Before this appointment Maxime worked in SC Ventures, the innovation arm of Standard Chartered, he joined this team in 2018. Maxime has worked for Standard Chartered for 15 years in a variety of roles in transaction banking and digital channels, working out of Ireland, the UAE, Vietnam and more recently Singapore.
Fearghal is a partner of Maples and Calder's Funds & Investment Management team in the Maples Group's London office. He advises many of the world's leading financial institutions, asset management corporations, UCITS management companies, AIF managers, fund administrators and depositaries. He has extensive experience in advising asset managers on the structuring, establishment and regulation of funds, with particular expertise in private equity, hedge funds, fund of funds, real asset structures, fintech and crypto-assets. Fearghal also advises on the establishment and ongoing regulation of Irish authorised AIFMs and UCITS management companies.
Roxane is head of strategy at GHCO, a registered market maker and one of the fastest-growing liquidity providers, specialising in ETFs and ETPs on and off all major European exchanges. Passionate about tech and entrepreneurship, she joined GHCO just as the company emerged as a leading fintech company. She advanced the fixed income ETF market making and investor relations, and now focuses on innovative areas of growth such as digital assets. Prior to joining GHCO, she held positions at Merrill Lynch and HUBX. She is a fierce advocate for diversity & inclusion, fighting to close the gender investing gap and actively supporting female founders.
