Irish Funds Member Update

New Member Welcome

Firstly, we would like to wish a warm welcome to our most recent new and upgraded members Barclays Bank Ireland PLC, First Trust Global Portfolios Management, MetLife and Tendercapital. Our association represents 153 member companies from across the funds and asset management industry and we appreciate your continuing support.

Council Elections

We were delighted with the unprecedented response to our call for council nominations. Council members play a leading role in the direction of our industry and our association, ensuring that member voices are heard, while collaborating with senior leaders across the industry. Since then, the results have been checked and validated - 110 member firms lodged votes, representing an 83% turnout rate. This is a strong endorsement of the changes which members approved earlier in the year and the quality of the candidates who put themselves forward for election. The following have been elected to serve on the Council of the Association for the next three years:

  • Gary Clare, Accenture

  • Eve Finn, Legal and General Investment Management

  • Ronnie Griffin, HSBC (returned for a second term)

  • Colm McDonagh, Insight Investment

  • Eoin Motherway, AMX

  • Ann Stock, Vanguard Group Ireland

Focus Ireland – Shine A Light Sleep Out on 15 October

Building on our involvement last year, we’re participating again in The Shine a Light Sleep out to raise vital funds and stand in solidarity with people experiencing homelessness. As an industry we’ve been very fortunate and want to give back to the communities we live and work in. On Friday, 15 October, an expanded team will join the sleep out, including Lisa Kealy, Brian Forrester, Yvonne Connolly, Ronnie Griffin, Tara Doyle, Carmel Jordan, Gary Pike, Dara Harrington, Liam Butler, Patrick O’Brien and Pat Lardner

We are inspired by the work of Focus Ireland and want to support them by raising much needed funds as part of our participation in Shine a Light Night 2021. Please donate on our page to help them by giving whatever you can. The more people that know about Focus Ireland, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing our page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!

Irish Funds Secretariat - Team Updates

During the summer our Director of Legal & Technical, Declan Casey, hit a milestone. On the 20th of August 2001, Declan joined the Association as its second employee. Over the last twenty years Declan has served the membership and the industry with tremendous care and dedication and has been an important member of our team. Congratulations and many thanks to Declan for all he has done and contributed as the industry and the association have grown and developed.

Additionally, we have welcomed three new interns. In association with UCD School of Business we are delighted to welcome Claire Read, Lisa Baldwin and Joanna Lenghel. Over the course of the next 9 months, we hope you learn new skills, gain valuable experience and insight to the Irish funds industry.
