Irish Funds TY Financial Literacy Programme: A Busy Few Weeks Nationwide
Monday, 08 December 2025
The Irish Funds TY Financial Literacy Programme continued to build momentum in recent weeks, with volunteers delivering engaging and interactive financial education sessions across seven schools in seven counties.
The programme aims to empower Transition Year students with the knowledge and confidence to make informed financial decisions. Through practical lessons on budgeting, financial wellbeing, sustainable investing, and emerging topics such as cryptocurrency, students are gaining essential skills to support their long-term financial wellbeing.
During this recent series of visits, sessions took place in:
Pipers Hill College, Naas, Co. Kildare
Ardscoil Rís, Dublin
Our Lady’s Grove, Dublin
St. Eunan’s College, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal
Kinsale Community School, Co. Cork
Waterpark College, Waterford
Woodbrook College, Bray, Co. Wicklow
Limerick Educate Together Secondary School, Limerick
Across these schools, students took part in hands-on classroom activities exploring key financial concepts, from living within your means and understanding different forms of income to sustainability in investing and navigating investment risk. Interactive tools — including budgeting exercises, investment simulations, and quizzes — helped bring these topics to life and encouraged active participation.
The sessions also highlighted the diverse range of career pathways available in the financial services sector, with many students expressing enthusiasm about opportunities for future work experience and apprenticeships.
Irish Funds extends a sincere thank you to the industry volunteers from member firms whose time, insights, and enthusiasm continue to drive the success of the programme. A special acknowledgment goes to Deloitte, the programme’s sponsor, for their ongoing support and commitment to improving financial literacy nationwide.
