The objective of the Irish Funds Industry Association is to support and complement the development of the funds industry in Ireland. Our main roles include:
The Voice of the Funds Industry
Representing the industry in discussions with the government agencies: The Financial Regulator, IDA Ireland and government departments to ensure that the environment and infrastructure available can support the continued development and growth of the Industry.
An Information resource for the International Funds Industry
Through the development of industry policy, guidance papers, technical briefings and the work of the Association's committees, the IFIA assists in the defining of practice in complex areas such as compliance, valuation, accounting, share dealing and registration. The partnership between its administration, legal and audit members ensure that all interests are addressed in the formulation of these Guidance Papers. In doing so, the association provides a valuable service in generating and disseminating information in an effective and complete way.
Promoting and Profiling the International Funds Industry
The IFIA raises the profile of the industry to make Ireland the prime location as a domicile and servicing centre for international investment funds. The IFIA promotes awareness of the funds industry both internationally and and domestically by hosting funds conferences, events and seminars and by engaging with the media.
Support the Training and Development of Personnel in the International Funds Industry
The IFIA is committed to the continued development of its most valuable resource - its people. Through the Certificate and Diploma in Investment Fund Services training programmes and the industry specific seminars provided by the Association, the industry actively supports the professional development and escalation of expertise of those working in the industry.
