Graduation ceremony marks the first successful cycle of the Funds Executive Management Programme
19/02/2010
Earlier this afternoon at the Institute of Bankers in Dublin, the first group of participants in the Funds Executive Management Programme attended a graduation ceremony with their managers and senior industry representatives. The new programme is designed for high potential candidates to facilitate succession planning by enabling senior managers to build their skills before taking on roles of greater responsibility. The unique benefit of the Executive Management Programme is the provision of specialised, industry-wide senior management training in a funds industry context available at a very competitive cost. The Funds Executive Management Programme is promoted by the IFIA and run by the UCD School of Professional Finance at the Institute of Bankers. The programme is also co-funded by the government under the Summit Finuas training network.
Gary Palmer, Chief Executive of the IFIA commented:
“The Funds Executive Management Programme supported by the industry-led Summit Finuas network is an excellent example of how the funds industry can work together and in partnership with government to develop training initiatives to meet future skills needs. Well done to the first crop of participants who have completed the programme.”
Patrick Cannon, a participant in the programme from SEI commented:
“I have benefitted enormously from the programme and have already put into practice many of its learning outcomes. I particularly enjoyed the funds industry specific role plays and found the quality of the training outstanding and the personalised feedback very useful.”
