Newly published EFAMA-SWIFT Fund Processing Survey reveals High Level of Automation in Ireland
21/07/2010

The first EFAMA-SWIFT survey report on the standardization and automation of fund orders in Ireland has just been published. The report, which covers 80% of the total 5.9 million trades processed by Irish Transfer Agents reveals exceptionally high levels of automation rates which have increased each quarter throughout 2009 and reached 86% in Quarter 4 2009. Also during 2009 there were a total of 55 new automated links reported, 50 links using the ISO 20022 messaging standard and 5 links using proprietary file transfer links.

The next survey and corresponding report is due to be published in the autumn and will form a series of twice yearly surveys and reports on the automation of fund orders in the Irish and other international fund distribution centres. The goal of this initiative is to inform all institutions involved in fund processing, as well as the European Commission, the European Parliament and other interested stakeholders about the industry’s progress towards greater standardization and automation.
