Fund Administrator – Transfer Agency
After completing the Leaving Certificate, the candidate completed 1 year at secretarial college before joining the industry on a temporary 6 month contract in October 1998, initially as a filing clerk in the registration department and was made permanent at the end of the contract. In 2001 the candidate moved to the client services helpdesk and then moved to the banking department of the transfer agency section, which issues the payments and redemptions for the
investment funds, and is currently working in this department as a senior administrator.
Fund Administration Manager
Studied ACCA exams after leaving school, candidate started on a temporary 6 month contract as a filing clerk in the registration department, then spent 6
months testing fund accounting and client finance systems. After completing a year on a temporary contract, the candidate received a permanent position
in the transfer agency department. The candidate then went on to spend 4 years in the business development department on various projects throughout the business and was promoted to assistant manager and 3 years later was promoted to manager.
Business Analyst
Started in company from University on a co-operative education programme for a nine month work placement. After graduation spent a year travelling and then joined the graduate programme. The graduate programme placed trainees in a number of departments including; shareholder services, pricing, valuations, trade processing, corporate actions and client servicing. Secured a position in the exchange traded fund team on a permanent basis, worked there for four years learning a range of skills. Currently in a role in the business development department. Primary role is to advise prospective clients on the service offering, with the aim to be selected to provide these services.
Senior Manager - Fund Administration
Began working in the stock processing and reconciliation team. Within one year
had gained a role as a team leader. Approximately 1 ½ years later moved to the funds administration outsourcing team in the role of business analyst on new fund accounting business and projects which provided the opportunity to do lots of travelling in Europe. The outsourcing team is responsible for meeting new clients, analysing their processes and systems and planning and preparing fund accounting systems to deal with new business. Most recent promotion was to section manger in the funds administration department, with responsibility for 12 staff members.
Fund Accountant
Graduated in May 2003 with a Bachelor of Business Studies Degree. Started working in September 2003 as a trainee fund accountant, after 9 months was promoted to fund accountant. In December 2004 was promoted to senior fund accountant. During this time was studying for ACCA exams which were successfully passed in full in June 2005. Was promoted to account manager in June 2005.
